Biography
Cristina Manuela Drăgoi, Ph.D., is a pharmacist and associate professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy 'Carol Davila', Bucharest, Romania. She developed a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology, assessing drugs’ effects on biochemical markers and identifying predictive biomarkers, fostering lectures in biochemistry, biologic drugs, nutrition and chronobiology. Her doctoral research focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying indoles interactions and pharmacological responses within biological systems.
Her recent scientific research focuses on revealing the circadian entrainment actions on major physiological and pathological processes, determining its modulatory abilities on different aspects of hormones synthesis, on healthy ageing mechanisms and on nutrition and drugs effects. She has a particular interest in chronobiology, investigating the temporal aspects of biochemical processes and their implications for drug efficacy and toxicity. This captivating subject of applied biochemistry in drug research is the core of her scientific projects, fact depicted also by her authorship of several books, book chapters and research articles, continuing to explore new frontiers in biochemical and pharmacological research, with a focus on unraveling the complexities of drug mechanisms within the context of circadian biology.
