Geomorphology is a branch of earth sciences dealing with the definition of earth surface landforms. This book will cover topics such as: physical geography, geology, geodesy, geotechnical engineering, terrain, landform, tectonics, sediment transport, landslide, topography, erosion and other topics related to geomorphology. Remote sensing and GIS sciences in geomorphology are also topics that will be covered in this book. The book will be devoted to contributions to remote sensing, GIS studies, near-surface geophysics, and land-sea photogrammetry. Near-surface geophysics will include gravimetric and magnetic studies, more than geoarchaeological surveys. We acknowledge also articles dealing with GIS applications in the construction of geomorphological maps, both onshore and offshore. Physical geographic studies, including meteoric degradation, sediment transport, landslides, fluvial erosion, karst processes, shorelines and marine terraces, and littoral dynamics are suitable in the book. Geomorphometry is the quantitative description of landscapes and their spatial distribution, or rather the extraction of geological information with numerical analysis by digital elevation models. In the geomorphological maps, the specificity of different legends, if applied to offshore areas, contrasting with onshore areas, will be taken into account according to the definition of corresponding landforms. Subsurface lithologic variations and the subsurface lineaments significantly control the surface processes and the geological evolution of the landscapes. In this book, we will focus on new advances in geomorphology with an ambition to reach new knowledge.
