Daniel M. Bethencourt

Daniel M. Bethencourt, M.D. is a graduate of MIT and Yale Medical School. He completed General Surgery Residency at the University of Texas, Houston and Cardiothoracic Surgery at UCLA. He is certified by the American Board of Surgeons and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Bethencourt has specialized in minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Since 1996 he has performed Minimally Invasive Aortic Valve Replacements, Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass, DaVinci Robotic-Assisted Mitral Valve Repair, and Robotic Atrial Fibrillation ablations. He initiated and led the Robotic Cardiac Surgery Program at Long Beach and Orange Coast Memorial Medical Centers 2006 - 2018, completing over 1,100 Da Vinci cardiac procedures. In October 2021 Dr Bethencourt was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery, Division Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford University.
