Geonildo Rodrigo Disner
Geonildo Rodrigo Disner is a Brazilian biologist with a Ph.D. in Genetics and a postdoc in Applied Toxinology and Systems Toxicology. He collaborates with the Center of Toxins, Immune-Response and Cell Signaling (CeTICS/FAPESP) and the Butantan Institute’s Zebrafish Platform, both in Brazil. In animal and alternative models, he has experience in the toxicity screening of chemicals of emerging concern, such as nanomaterials and pesticides, as well as drugs under development. In addition to researching the Natterin family of proteins and the anti-inflammatory peptide TnP discovered in the venom of the fish Thalassophryne nattereri, Dr. Disner studies the role of Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) in zebrafish immunological processes and immune response. He also works with (eco)toxicology at the Immunoregulation Unit of the Applied Toxinology Laboratory, Butantan Institute, São Paulo, Brazil.
