Elena Maria Anghel

Institute of Physical Chemistry “Ilie Murgulescu” of Romanian Academy, Bucharest

Elena Maria Anghel received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Bucharest, Romania, in 2001. She was granted a postdoctoral fellowship by the Royal Society of Chemistry to study molten salt oxidation of medical waste and tire scrap at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Leeds, UK. Currently, she is a senior researcher associated with the Department of Oxide Compounds and Materials Science from the Institute of Physical Chemistry-Ilie Murgulescu of the Romanian Academy. She has experience in thermal (DSC, thermal conductivity) and microstructural characterization (Raman, NMR, and FT-IR spectroscopies) of nanomaterials for energy and biomedical applications. Her research interests focus on understanding of structural modifications undergone during processing and establishing structure–property correlations of tailored materials.
