Dr Meek currently is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the Physical Education Health Education program in the School of Inclusive Teacher Education at Bowling Green State University, USA. Prior to that he was on faculty at the University of Exeter, UK in Exercise and Sport Sciences, within the School of Postgraduate Medicine and Health Sciences. He has experience teaching at universities in Belgium, Portugal and Canada and as a High School PE teacher in two urban school districts in England. Dr Meek’s teaching at BGSU covers nine different courses that range from Adapted Physical Education, to Content Development and Teaching methods classes. He has developed and operated motor development clinics for children with Special Needs and involving PE students for over 27 years. His research interests in Physical Activity, Physical Education Adapted Physical Education, include children with movement skill problems, aligning physical education with community opportunities, and examining attitudes and physical activity profiles of those at risk such as obese and sedentary of children and adolescents. Dr Meek is currently on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education. Dr Meek has extensive experience coaching field hockey, soccer, and cricket from youth to university and National League levels.
