Georgios Papakonstantinou graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly (UTH) in 2018. He then completed a postgraduate internship in Farm Animal Medicine (specialization in porcine medicine) for one semester at the Clinic of Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, Karditsa (Greece). Afterwards, he received a PhD specialization in Swine Medicine from UTH (Farm Animal Clinic, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) in 2022. His author work includes 16 publications in international scientific journals and 4 oral or poster presentations at international congresses. He has also participated in several privately funded contract research programs, as a co-researcher during his postgraduate studies at the Clinic of Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, Karditsa (Greece). In addition, he worked as a Scholar of the University of Thessaly for the provision of adjuvant teaching and laboratory work in the Department of Veterinary Medicine in the context of the projects: a) "Supporting the educational activities of the University of Thessaly during the academic year 2020-2021 by integrating remedial teaching in addition to the main lectures and b) "Clinical practice and clinical training of 5th-year students - Emergencies" from December 2021 to July 2022. In the past, he worked as a swine practitioner on a pig farm located in Western Greece. His research focuses on the study of PRRSV, PCV2, and other porcine diseases (diagnosis, prevention, metaphylaxis, prophylaxis). He has also carried out various clinical and field trials (vaccines, antibiotics, probiotics, phytogenics, and mycotoxins). He is also interested in Porcine Herd Health Management and Animal Welfare.
