Amit Kumar Dewangan

Dr. Amit Kumar Dewangan is a seasoned academic and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur. He holds a Master of Engineering (M.E) in Computer Science & Engineering from Shri Ram Institute of Technology, Jabalpur, where he graduated with 78.3% in June 2015, and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science & Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, with a 74.3% in June 2008. He completed his Ph.D. degree from the Dr. C. V. Raman University, Bilaspur, India. With a specialization in Text Mining, Data Mining, and Machine Learning, Dr. Dewangan has a rich teaching experience spanning over 7.5 years, previously serving as an Assistant Professor at Dr. C. V. Raman University, Bilaspur. His dedication to research is evident from his numerous peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals, covering topics such as attack classification using ensemble models, heart disease identification, text classification, and anomaly detection. Dr. Dewangan has been recognized for his research excellence, receiving the Research Leadership Award in 2020 for his contributions to text mining, awarded by the World Research Council and United Medical Council in association with RULA, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India. His work often intersects advanced data analysis techniques and real-world applications, exemplified by his studies on spam email classification, phishing website identification, and disease classification using machine learning. Dr. Dewangan is actively involved in various academic and administrative responsibilities, including serving as a university-level placement member, class in-charge, and departmental research coordinator. He is also a dedicated mentor, supervising several M.Tech students on their theses in areas such as diabetes classification, phishing detection, and facial expression recognition. His commitment to academic excellence and innovative research continues to make significant contributions to the field of computer science and engineering.
