Vincenzo Carafa finished the bachelor degree in 2004 and completed the master degree in 2005. In 2006 he started PhD course in pathology of cellular signal transduction at Università degli Studi della Campania “L. Vanvitelli”. From 2008 to 2018, he was a post-doc at the medical epigenetics laboratory of Professor Altucci in the Department of Precision Medicine of dell’Università degli Studi della Campania “L. Vanvitelli. In 2018 he won a position as assistant professor, researcher type B. From 2021 he is associate professor of general pathology. He has 66 publications in international journals reviewed by PubMed. The key result of his research program it was the identification and characterization of a novel SIRT inhibitor with tumor-selective potential in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo, identifying a novel molecular complex in which RIP1 is subject to regulation by acetylation. Prof Carafa have participated at different national and international meetings, increasing his knowledge in epigenetic (de)regulation and alteration of RCD processes.
