Hüseyin Emre Ilgın

Dr. Hüseyin Emre Ilgın received his Ph.D. (2018) on the topic of tall building design in the Department of Architecture from METU, Ankara. In his more than 15 years of professional life, he worked in the architectural design and construction sector, mainly in the design and site supervision of healthcare facility projects, including city hospitals over one million square meters. During his 10 years of teaching experience, he has taught at various universities as a lecturer. Dr. Ilgın has more than 70 academic publications, more than 30 of which are on wooden construction. He started his postdoctoral career at Aalto University in 2018 and continued his career in wood construction at Tampere University. Dr. Ilgın is now working as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie research fellow on dovetail massive wood board elements at the same university. He has been giving seminars about his research project and the tallest timber buildings at many universities in Europe.
