Anubhav Jain
Dr. Jain is an Electrical engineer specializing in the Grid-integration of Renewable energy (Solar-PV, Wind, HVDC). He completed his undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The need for electrification to meet growing energy demands and increasing sustainability concerns has made Renewable Energy Systems one of the most significant areas of research. Since power electronics is an integral part of their control and integration, it was appropriate for him to specialize in this field through graduate studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. Today wind energy shows great promise as the fastest-growing renewable source and HVDC interconnections must play an undeniable role to facilitate cost-effective grid expansion. However, power systems of the future face many challenges in ensuring stable and secure operation in the face of the changing generation & transmission paradigm. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focusing on the black start and islanding capabilities of HVDC-connected offshore wind power plants. The project was part of an EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation program called InnoDC. He is currently working in the renewable energy industry wedded to the goal of a carbon-neutral future while pushing forward the research and development in this area.
