Sara Soares

I have a transdisciplinary training where I completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences, a master in Pharmaceutical Medicine, and a PhD in Public Health, and diverse research professional experiences, that allowed me to become a public health researcher and to develop an in-depth understanding of current knowledge and challenges in the social adversity epidemiology and inequalities in health. During the doctoral program I developed skills in advanced quantitative methods, especially dealing with longitudinal data from Generation XXI birth cohort. I have publications in peer-review journals, on the impact of exposure to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on biological markers (cardiometabolic and inflammatory markers). I am currently working as post-doc researcher at ISPUP, I am a member of the Department of Health and Society and of the research group on Social Epidemiology at the Institute of Public Health of University of Porto (ISPUP). I have co-authored 19 articles in peer-reviewed journals (7 of which as first author) and several abstracts in conference proceedings, totalizing 383 citations. I am co-author of numerous oral communications and posters presented to national and international conferences and I was awarded with several international distinctions.
