Akashdeep Bhardwaj

Dr. Bhardwaj has been working as a Professor and Head of Cybersecurity (Center of Excellence) at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, India since January 2019. He has an experience of around 24 years in the IT industry which includes managing teams for Cybersecurity and IT Operations for Incident Response, Networking, System Administration, Cyberattacks, Threat Intelligence/Hunting, Compliance/Audits, VA/PT, and Digital Forensics providing service delivery for internal staff and external customers worldwide. He has also over 5 years of experience in academia. He holds a Post-Doctoral degree (‘Smart Water Treatment to utilize Sea Water’) gained under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Alshehri, and sponsored by the Deputyship for Research & Innovation, Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, India. His expertise is in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, and IT Operations. He leads the industry-academia collaborations (DSCI, Systools, eSecForte, Softlink, SNet Labs, Incedo, Global Cybersecurity Assoc., Amity, University of Uttarakhand, Emeritus, IGNOU, Cyberverse). Dr. Bhardwaj teaches the following courses: Cyber Threat Intelligence, Network Security, Ethical Hacking & Pen Testing, Application Security, Open-Source Intelligence, IT Systems Security, and Digital Forensics. He has mentored Master and Ph.D. students from RMIT Vietnam, UPES, University of Fiji, and Birla Institute of Technology.
