Prof. Dr. med. Von Tempelhoff, FCATH, is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, gynecologic oncology, perinatal medicine, and emostaseology. He is chief of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at St. Vinzenz Hospital Hanau and head of the Institute for Thrombosis and Coagulation Disorders in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (Hausen). He absolved his medical education at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen and became a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1996. In 1993, he received his doctorate in medicine, completed his habilitation at the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz in 2007, and was appointed extracurricular professor at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in 2015. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Clinical and Applied Thrombosis and Hemostasis. His scientific focus is on hemostaseological and hemorrhological disorders in women with miscarriages, preeclampsia, and thrombosis. He is a reviewer for numerous journals and, in addition to his publications and book chapters, has also contributed to international and national guidelines on coagulation and thrombosis in gynaecology.
