Leith Dunn

Leith Dunn, Ph.D., is a sociologist and gender analyst, honorary research fellow, and former senior lecturer/head of the University of the Institute for Gender and Development Studies, University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona, Jamaica. She is also a research affiliate in the Department of Sociology in Botswana under the Isaac Shapera Project. She holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as an MSc (Sociology) and BA (Hons) from UWI. Dr. Dunn’s research interests include gender mainstreaming in socioeconomic development policies and programs; sexual and reproductive health and rights; climate change and disasters; labor standards (human trafficking, domestic workers); migration and human trafficking; and rights of women, children and persons with disabilities. In 2019, Apolitical.com named Dr. Dunn among the 100 most influential persons globally for promoting gender equality policies.
