Antonio Antonio Fernández-Caballero

Antonio Fernández-Caballero holds a degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a PhD in Physics from the Artificial Intelligence Department of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia. For 11 years, before joining the university, he worked in several large companies as a Systems Analyst, Project Manager and Manager. He is a Professor in the area of Computer Languages and Systems at the University of Castile-La Mancha (UCLM). He is the director of the Multidisciplinary Unit in Neurocognition and Emotion Research in Real and Virtual Environments belonging to the Informatics Research Institute of Albacete (I3A). In 2013 he opened a new multidisciplinary research line with psychiatrists, psychologists and neurobiologists from the Faculty of Medicine of Albacete at the UCLM. Currently, he belongs to CIBERSAM within the ‘Psychosis and Social Cognition’ group (Research Institute Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid). He is the author of more than 400 scientific contributions, including 183 articles published in international journals with an impact index (since 2001), mainly in the area of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence. Of these publications, 44.8% (82 articles) belong to the Q1 quartile and 22 to the first decile (D1). He is Associate Editor in the journals Pattern Recognition Letters (since 2010), Frontiers in Neuroinformatics (2017) and Applied Sciences (2018) and Specialty Chief Editor for Robot and Machine Vision in Frontiers in Robotics and AI (2015). He is a member of the Editorial Board of numerous international journals. He has been Guest Editor for more than 20 special issues in international journals.
